Our People
A small, senior team — each adviser personally accountable for the recommendations that carry their signature.
At most advisory firms, the senior partner closes the sale and a junior associate delivers the work. At Holloway & Sterling, the adviser who assesses your situation, signs the fiduciary declaration, and presents the Risk Architecture Report is the same person who monitors your structure month after month. We have deliberately remained small — nine advisers as of 2024 — because growth that would require us to dilute that commitment is growth we decline. Each member of our team holds a minimum of twelve years of capital protection experience, and several have backgrounds in institutional risk management from Vienna, London, and Zürich before returning to Romania.
The qualifications and experience our advisers bring to every client mandate.
The majority of our advisory staff hold CFA charterholder or CFP certification — credentials that require ongoing education, ethics examinations, and professional conduct standards enforced by international oversight bodies. We consider these the minimum bar for fiduciary advisory work.
All advisers are fully licensed under ASF (Autoritatea de Supraveghere Financiară) regulations and maintain current knowledge of ANAF guidance on cross-border structures, Romanian inheritance law, and EU-level reporting requirements including DAC6 and CRS.
Several team members spent formative years in institutional risk management at banks and asset managers in Vienna and Zürich. That experience — pricing tail risk, modelling multi-asset drawdowns, stress-testing liquidity — is now applied directly to individual and family-office client mandates.
Four of our nine advisers have served as embedded advisers within Romanian and Austrian family offices, giving them direct experience of the governance, reporting, and inter-generational communication challenges that ultra-high-net-worth families face — and which generic wealth managers rarely handle well.
“I have worked with advisory firms in London, Frankfurt, and Bucharest over thirty years of investing. What distinguishes Holloway & Sterling is not the product range — it is the fact that my adviser, Andrei, has been the same person for seven years, attends every annual review himself, and disagrees with me when the data says he should. That quality of relationship is genuinely rare.”
Dr. Constantin Petrescu, Sibiu
We run an internal investment committee that meets bi-monthly to review every active client structure against current market conditions, regulatory developments, and macro risk indicators. Committee decisions are documented, dissenting views are recorded, and no structure modification reaches a client without passing a written devil's-advocate review. This process slows us down relative to firms that operate on trust and instinct. We consider that a feature, not a deficiency. The deep midnight tones of our meeting rooms — offset by the warm coral accents of our documentation design — are a deliberate visual reminder that this firm values composed deliberation above the appearance of speed.
There are no junior gatekeepers here. An initial consultation connects you with the adviser who would handle your mandate.
